Whether is be performance enhancement, injury prevention or optimised movement, an intrinsic biomechanics assessment is the place to start.
Intrinsic Biomechanics goes beyond the surface, delving into the inherent mechanics that drive your every move. Whether you're an athlete aiming to enhance performance or someone seeking relief from discomfort, the personalised assessments and targeted interventions empower you to harness the full capabilities of your body.
It goes beyond the traditional understanding of biomechanics which often focuses solely on external factors. This approach recognises the intrinsic factors that influence how your body functions, allowing us to tailor interventions that address your specific needs.

Pilates is a method that was developed in Germany by Joseph Pilates (1883 – 1967). Originally the method was called Contrology. It has branched out and adapted over the years to cater for the changes in the population's needs but the goal remains the same. To work in a way that encourages long and strong muscles, overall mobility and increased awareness of your body.
A strong focus in Pilates is finding and using the deeper core muscles effectively, this is a hugely beneficial practice for everyone as It helps stabilise the spine, improves balance and takes the load off other muscles so they can get on with their own job.
We can do so much work with just a mat and a bit of space. There are also all multiple machines and forms of equipment that can be brought into use too.
Combining the Intrinsic Biomechanics and Pilates, we'll start by conducting in depth assessments to understand your body's imbalances. Looking at range and symmetry, movement patterns, joint mobility and muscle activation.

Armed with a thorough understanding of your body's intrinsic biomechanics, we will develop personalised interventions to optimise your movement. This may include Pilates and Yoga exercises, corrective techniques and lifestyle adjustments aimed at improving your ability to MOVE.
We'll not only address specific concerns but overall posture too, from injury prevention to performance enhancement. I'll tailor a program designed to elevate your physical capabilities and enhance your quality of life.

In Yin Yoga we hold postures for anywhere from 1 minute up to 10. The goal being to allow the body to relax within any given position. When you then release and come out of a posture, it rehydrates your connective tissues like your ligaments, tendons and facia.

I have been working in the fitness industry for almost a decade. Working for myself, Pilates studios and sports physios with a huge range of clients. From GB Ultra runners to dementia patients. I've coached dancers, rowers, climbers, horse riders. Clients recovering from surgery or working with long term illness or injury. Ranging from a Pilates studio full of equipment to a simple chat on zoom, I realised that I was happy with my days work if I'd managed to help someone Improve their ability to move.
I started Pilates at 14 after injuring my back. I quickly noticed that I was better able to manage the discomfort and also improve my flexibility and strength. After 12 years of classical dance training I thought all this was up to scratch, but I found that adding Pilates into my training not only improved my physical capabilities but kick-started my interest in how the body moves and how we can benefit from training with longevity in mind.
I have a large network of experienced and renowned physios, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, sports therapists, biomechanics specialists, personal trainers and Pilates/Yoga instructors. If I think we need another expert opinion, we can work together with a number of professionals to get you where you want to be. Equally, if I’m not the right person to help you at this stage, I will find that person for you.
